Miller, PhD, authors of the chapter titled “Delivering Facts for Progress.” Often times, the data show decisions that can no longer be avoided, and how leadership can require tough conversations and the sharing of difficult information. This webinar discusses and provides examples of delivering hard-to-hear and overlooked information so that resources are not wasted. Developing the skillset of having difficult but constructive conversations is critical for accreditation success.

Presenter Bios:

Marjorie A Trueblood, EdD, is Dean of the Student Center for Inclusion and Belonging, Rollins College. In this role, she creates initiatives to further underrepresented student success, increase the cultural humility of multiple stakeholders, and assists with the implementation of Rollin’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging strategic plan. Throughout her career she has served in multiple capacities within higher education, including Residence Life, Title IX, Student Support and Intervention, Admissions, and Diversity and Inclusion. Outside of work, she is active in nonprofits and provides DEIB training and consultation to various entities.  Marjorie enjoys supporting multiple stakeholders to be their best selves works to infuse social justice principles in building inclusive communities. 

Nancy D. Floyd, PhD, is Senior System Director for Research at the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities; in that role she oversees production of system submissions to the state Office of Higher Education, reports to the State Legislature on behalf of the system, and IPEDS submissions for seven universities and twenty-six colleges, as well as a number of systemwide data applications and long-range reporting projects. In this role she also serves on the Minnesota P-20 Education Partnership and specifically on the Learner Lifespan workgroup, as well as the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative (NPEC). Her research interests include the use of risk assessment in higher education leadership, and shared data governance. 

Bethany Miller, PhD, is Associate Provost and Chief Data Officer at Macalester College (MN). Her work creates a foundation for collaboration to build shared understanding and use data to support student and institutional success. With a focus on equity and inclusion along with assessment, she has published, presented, and consulted, building on her professional experiences as director of institutional research at Mary Baldwin University (VA) and director of institutional research and assessment at Cornell College (IA). Miller is currently coauthoring a book on equity-centered collaboration in the use of data to inform student and institutional success. She is active in regional and national organizations related to institutional research and assessment including Association for Institutional Research (AIR), Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS), and Association for Institutional Research of the Upper Midwest (AIRUM). Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in English and earned a PhD in education with an emphasis in research, evaluation, statistics, and assessment from University of Southern Mississippi.
